How popular is Piano and Violin?

Hi, I want to know how popular the musical instrument Piano and Violin are. Is it not popular in this age or generation? I think it produces very nice music and can go along with other instruments and perform solo very nicely as well. Some of my friends and acquaintances, does not prefer to listen to this instrument, and I thought girls would love the music produced by this music. But some of them not like them when i asked them. Can you tell me why is it like that?

If you are just interested in them to impress girls, probably you won’t because they’re not really party instruments. You can’t just go up and serenade some girl with a violin. It’s very intense, and is appropriate only in the later phases of a relationship – namely after you’ve already won her over some other way.
Also, you have to be good – really good, when you are playing in this mode.
Just about every instrument made has been used successfully in a rock and roll setting. Check out Emilie Autumn on violin if you don’t believe me. But the only reason YOU should be playing is if the instrument speaks your heart and soul.
Re-examine your motives. Get good, and maybe you’ll make it more popular. Probably you should take up guitar – it’s easier to play in a casual social setting than violin.
The piano is the more popular instrument, trust me.
Honestly I don’t think most females would be impressed by a violin performance(even though it’s probably the hardest to play between the guitar, piano and violin).
To really impress someone with the violin you would have to be really really good at it. The piano is more popular in that it’s easier to play and gives you more room for interpreting songs and for many songs that have been on the radio, you can just type the name on youtube and then put piano and you’ll probably find a video of someone playing that song on the piano.
If anything is bound to impress anyone it’s the guitar.
