Should someone major in musical theater or in acting?

I’ve always loved musical theater, and that’s what i want to pursue as a career. But recently I’ve started at a fantastic acting school and am wondering whether it would open more doors for me to become an acting major or to learn more about exactly what I want to do in musical theater.
