I am going to an acting school over the summer and we have to audition for the musical which is going to be beauty and the beast. I am not the best singer in the world but i want a good but maybe a little easy piece to sing. Btw..i am a girl. Also we have to sing 16 bars…thanks!
We want something that has lots of male and female parts. Something preferably not too dark (we did Sweeney Todd last year)
Also, we DON’T want to do some thing that is extremely popular. In the last 10 ish years or so we have done Beauty and the Beast, South Pacific, Guys and Dolls, Crazy for You and many other popular musicals.
What do you think?
We have a few decent guys and competitive female talent. We also have a VERY large cast with no cuts based on talent. In the past, we have done Oklahoma!, Bye Bye Birdie, The Pajama Game, Grease, The Wizard of Oz, and Beauty and the Beast. We are considering Thoroughly Modern Millie, but we need to compile a list for the director to look at before the fianl decision is made. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I’m auditioning for a show coming up, and I need a good audition song. I’m a kid, so please give me some songs for my age. I’m auditioning for a lead in Charlotte’s Web (a musical version) and I want to be Wilbur, Charlotte, or Fern. Any songs you can think of would be good?

**NEW INFO**
My theater group doesn’t like us to repeat songs from old shows. Here are the songs I know and the shows that weren’t written by the Co. writers that I’ve been in
Music Man
Annie
Seussical he Musical
I’ve been in 6 shows but half of them were written by people that work for the theater group.
Remember, I’m a girl really going for Wilbur, a boy role, so I need a fun song that shows off my voice. I have a very wide range, but prefer singing alto.
Thanks!!
Oh wait, there is more…
They don’t like people to sing stuff from any past shows, whether I was in it or not.
So here’s what they have done.
You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown
Some version of "Cinderella"
Annie
Beauty and the Beast
Music Man
Seussical the Musical
Tom Sawyer (not sure if that was written by the company or not)
Wizard of Oz
i’m in the musical theatre program at my school, and we are coming toward the end of our current production of Beauty and the Beast.
However, the Director wants suggestions for a good musical next year.
I have no idea. any suggestions?
the requirements:
1. good ensemble pieces
2. at least 4 or 5 lead parts
3. good draw [gets people to come to the show]
4. good dance break moments in the music.
Out of pure boredom, I decided to sing nine different songs, all from popular musicals, but for the sake of time, (And the fun of guessing!) I only sang bits and peices! ENJOY!
I love acting and i love singing so i wanted to learn new musicals. I already know about White Christmas, Chicago, and Annie, but i want to learn about others.
ot singing in the rain or seven grides for seven brothers, i already saw those and 13, Cinderalla, Beauty and the beast, The king and I, all the ones that Broadway High School did (if you know what that is)
And Sound of music or Marry Poppins cause those are boring (not to hurt you feelings if you like those)
