My daughter is interested in music, but I have no musical background. Lessons are expensive, what are other homeschoolers doing?

"A KIDS LIFE" MUSICAL LYRICS MUSIC BY COREY LELAND "A Kids Life" Musical is like a concert that embodies a certain 1960′s feel at this site here http://www.cdbaby.com/coreyleland. Envision the folksy pop score by Corey Leland composer/lyricist being belted out by Sixties hit songwriters & bands like the Turtles & The Byrds! When Corey Leland was a child he listened to The Monkees Partridge Family & The Beatles even though those are love songs for grown ups. Corey’s music has the same catchy retro groovy feel & vibe but with great messages for kids!

My drama group is planning on putting on a revue that has all the songs from big braodway shows however the Musical Director is having a knigntmare transposing all the band parts for the songs. 30 songs x 12 instruments =… well you do the math. Anyone who knows how i could obtain the individual band parts for each instrument for any music from musicals i will have your babies!!
Thanks

I had heard once that during the fliming of a musical all the singing done was done live. The only thing that would have to be pre recorded would be the music. I had heard that, that was what they did with Rent and I wondered if it was true and if it was was it the same for every other musical. I wonder this because I’m sitting here watching Moulin Rouge and it was a question me and my friend were debating over. I do know that in High School Musical the kid who played Troy wasn’t the actual singer, but that still doesn’t mean they would of pre recorded if he had been the singer. So, please help me out if you can. Thanks.

Like if a musical that didnt right its music, but used popular songs do? Do they do as good as the other ones? Like Rock of Ages, ( which was all 80′s music) but no one category?

I’m a classical singer. I went to college and majored in Music (vocal/classical.) I’m now continuing my studies and I am beginning to get into some musical theater. My vocal coach told me to pick a piece that I would like to work on. Idk any musical theater peices that would be good for me. I am a soprano. Since it’s musical theater and I would be belting would I pick something lower? What would be some good songs to work on?

I don’t know anything about musicals, but I really like vintage genres with old fashioned music. I liked Hello Dolly a lot. that’s about the only musical I’ve seen. what else can I see? a list would be fabulous! thanks!

I’m currently a senior in high school and I want to be a doctor but i also want to do something with theater for the rest of my life. I’m planning on major in biology and have a minor in musical theater. Because i love to do musicals and such. And loyola university at chicago has a musical theater minor. I was wondering if can take these classes without having a major in theater or music. I’m willing to put in the time and effort for both. I’ve been in numerous musicals and i’ve had lots of singing experience/background. Is it possible? Or would i have to pick one or the other?
