SwankiVY sings “Popular” from Wicked

“Don’t you sing anything but cartoon songs?” YES! I’m a karaoke fiend and I enjoy all types of singing, but one of my favorites is show tunes/musicals. This is my Kristin Chenoweth impression: Singing “Popular” from the musical Wicked. (I’m even the same height as the actress: 4’11″!) Please feel free to comment and suggest other songs you’d like to hear. I might try doing a pop song or a ballad next! Note: This video is preceded by a fair amount of rambling. If you want to skip to the singing, go forward to about 3:30.

The couples, though separated by time, are bound together by the uncertainty of impending change and the ultimately redeeming power of love. Tomorrow Morning is filled with humor and sensitivity. British critics have called the score witty and poignant (Whats on Stage.com) with searing ballads and snappy, insightful comedy numbers (Stage). An early version of “Tomorrow Morning” had its world premiere in Londons New End Theatre on July 10, 2006. That same year it was honored in Theatre Radio’s Best Musical of 2006 competition and this past October was a finalist for

Bowling Green Musical

POPC 3650, Youth and Popular Culture, April 28, 2010: In the midst of a class discussion about folk beliefs and oral tradition, and the perplexing spread of the erroneous rumor of STDs at Bowling Green State University, a “spontaneous” musical erupted… (Only the students who sang knew this was going to happen; it was a surprise for everyone else.) Lyrics by Dr. Montana Miller, Department of Popular Culture (based on “Gee, Officer Krupke,” from West Side Story (one of the many musicals we studied in class this semester) Prospective student and admissions officer played by former POPC students who were “visiting” class that day.

What Is This Feeling?

Chad and Ryan loathe each other. Two wildly popular musicals. One suggestively homoerotic video montage. Enjoy. “What is This Feeling” comes from the Wicked original soundtrack and is sung by Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth. High School Musical 1 & 2 belong to First Street Films and Walt Disney Pictures.

This one was more of a challenge ^^, to be honest. Not a whole ton of my musicals or disney songs seemed to fit,, but I feel I made a fair judgement. With the way things are going (more songs for each musical).. GOF will be a two-parter! Hah.. songs for Ron are sort of hard to find.. I liked the first part because of the “we read the book and you come out on top”.. hahaha, yeah.. Plus, I discovered the Monty Python musical recently, so, I had to sneak some of those in! Such a funny musical, anybody should see/listen Songs used and intended singer: “Go,Go,Go Joseph” – Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Chorus?) “Brave Sir Robin” – Monty Python Spamalot (Hagrid) “Kids” – Bye Bye Birdie (Snape) “Dancing Through Life” – Wicked (Fred and George) “One Short Day” – Wicked (anybody could sing this, really.. it’s for Hogsmeade) “Endless Night” – Lion King (Harry) “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life” – Monty Python Spamalot (Lupin) “My New Philosophy” – You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown! (Hermione) “Out There” – Hunchback of Notre Dame (Sirius) Enjoy! ~~All clips property of WB!!~~
