What do you reccommend?
I’ve seen Hairspray, Rent, and Spring Awakening.
What else is there?
Wicked?
Mamma Mia?
Jersey Boys?
So far I’ve seen Avenue Q and Wicked.
I want to see Spring Awakening also.
Any really good musicals other than these you reccomend?
I am going on a 12 hour flight and I want a couple new albums of musicals to listen too. I like to listen to musicals when I travel cause it entertains me and makes the time go faster.
Some of my favorites right now are:
Little Women
Jane Eyre
You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown
Spring Awakening
I have Rent, Wicked, Sweeney Todd, Legally Blonde, Light in the Piazza, Avenue Q, Les Miz, Young Frankenstein, Spamelot, and a few others
I have probably the most creative mind in the world, but I want to write a musicals. Yet I feel that it has to be based on something. Does it have to be based on something in order to have songs?
Think about it:
Spring Awakening was based on an old play
Rent was based on la Boheme.
Cats was based on a t.s eliot book
The only musicals I know of that are SUPPOSEDLY not based on something except a certain era/scene/fad was Bells are Ringing and Grease.
I am a big musical theather geek and I am looking for some new musicals to become obessed with. ;D I am looking for some new, modern, and original type musicals that have a soundtrack for sale on iTunes. I am looking for ones that are new and not considered classics. I am more interested in rock (RENT, Spring Awakening, Tick Tick Boom) and pop ones (Hairspray).
Please list the name of the musical(s) and a few songs that are particurally good.
Also, can anyone tell me if Zanna, Don’t! and [tittle of show] are any good and what songs I should check out, if any.
No way…I hate High School Musical with a passion. I’m taking about Broadway, not musical/movies. Yes, I know RENT and Hairspray are movies, but they were real Broadway musicals first!
I love musicals; are there any new ones that you suggest will catch my eye?
I am a big fan of:
Wicked
Hairspray
Spring Awakening
Sweeney Todd
Seussical
Miss Saigon
The Sound of Music
and many others
